Overheating

Hi, my desktop EiSystem keeps overheating (i think). Once switched on its ok for about 5 mins then the CPU fan spins super fast for about 15 mins then slows down and after 5 mins goes fast again.

I have put more heat sink compound on the CPU and the the CPU fan but no different.

Sometimes it will just switch itself off.

What can i do to solve this?

so... how much of that compound is currently on it? if its any more then half of a pea then you've got too much. putting too much compound would most definitely cause your pc to overheat.
