Well my journey to silence my computer is nearly complete. Here are some pictures:
General layout: I removed both of the drive bays for better airflow and reduced weight. I know the wires are a bit messy, but I've ran out of wire ties (are getting more soon)
The CPU HSF: It's an old heatsink but it's so far holding its ground. I'm probably going to get a Tuniq Tower during the summer.
I replaced the top fan with a Arctic Cooling PWM 120mmm fan. It's VERY quiet and it speeds up when my CPU heats up. There's also a rear 120mm Antec Tricool fan, which should be replaced by a Nexus 120mm fan soon.
Without the 3.5" drive bays, I moved my hard drive up to the 5.25" bay with a Scyth Hard drive Stabilizer. It works pretty well for $8, as instead of a high clicking noise, my hard drive now makes a dull rumble.
My Real power Pro 650watt PSU with a rear rubber PSU silencer, which cost $2 on sale from xoxide
. There's also the standard silicon strip underneath the unit.
Where the front drive bays use to be. Notice how I piled up all the extra cables on the bottom. There's also a lone Fanmate that controls my CPU fan speed mounted on the bottom.
Stock fanless northbridge heatsink, keeps it under 55ºC during dual Orthos sessions. This will not be replaced
