p180b wiring....Post the insides of your cases if possible (pics)

In advance, I apologize for the horrible quality, but these were taken with my phone on the count of me not feeling like charging proprietary sony digital camera battery at the moment.

Ok, just got my p180b (same thing as p180, but black for those of you wondering), and it's a wonderful case except for one thing...the power supply compartment. I haven't put in the pci wifi card yet, nor the 8800gts (because it doesn't arrive until next Wednesday's >_>), but I don't know if I can fit the pci wifi card in the top or bottom pci slot...I'll try the middle.

Well anyhow, maybe it's just the wires that my PSU use, but this was by far the hardest case to wire and it still looks messy with all the wires tied together. (in comparison to my much smaller other case). Also, around the other side of the case, (too lazy to take off other panel for pics), I wired all three fans' power chords and used the included ties on those wires as well...So here are some pics:
(the yellow sata cable to the dvd burner that's protruding is because I put it around the hook at the top so it doesn't float around. Also, if you could post some of your cases wired, or any insight as to what I should do, it would be much appreciated.)
(also, I use way too many parenthesis =D)

I love connecting things up and making them work, I hate organizing the wires though. I will post mine up maybe next week when I get my parts in Our builds are pretty similar...
 
Intel, it seems like the hardware you're getting is (aesthetically and physically) the same as mine...so let me just give you some warnings and tips from experience.

1. install the thermalright AFTER you screw in the motherboard. (there are six golden screw holes on the case already protruding and lined up to motherboard so you don't have to worry about that). but i say this because there's a screw in the top left that's hard to reach without a knife.

2. Wire the 3 fans around the back, with one of your PSU's 4-pin molex threads. The fan plugs are two sided, so you can stack them on the same one and use the loop ties included with the case to keep them flat on the back. (when i say back of the case, i mean right side of the case if you're facing it).

3. KNOW the texture/shape of your psu cables...It took me a good 10 minutes to fit these wires through that tiny slit...and despite what the case manual says, just loosen the two screws on the black part, slide, then tighten fully and let wires through.

4. Install the HDD(s) in the bottom cage, it's placed slightly more toward the front of the case, leaving more room for your wires. (I did this because i heard that the 8800 is really long and some of the hdd wires wouldn't fit. It feels alot cleaner and neater this way too)

5. use the hook at the top of the case for cpu fan wire.


and finally 6. not a tip, but dude...this case (in combo with the heatsink of course) keeps the entire case REALLY REALLY cold and quiet (even on high it's quieter than my laptop's fan which is saying something)

oh wait, 7. watch for wires obstructing the fan in the PSU area...

8. i love this case. =3


EDIT: also, i accidentally left the comp on for an hour without noticing till i saw the blue light but it has no video card inside, just a power cord i plugged in to test if it all worked..does that hurt anything? It ran really cold and all the fans spinned and stuff...

I am going to install the TUe before I install the mobo, I have done most of that already, but my PSU wires aren't in the fan, but they are in front of it....
 
yea intel, all i did is tie up or push back the extra psu wires (my psu came with far too many >_>) and the fan spins freely...And a suggestion to theres that guy if you removed the bottom 120mm fan so that the wires would fit through both holes, try putting the wires around the original fan space through those notches on the bottom right and left of the case. That way you can keep the original fan and have your psu work...oh and you're presumably sli'd video cards give me wiring hope for when the 8800 comes on wed.

I'm not quite understanding what you're talking about with putting wires around orginal fan space through notches? PSU works just fine. Also this is not an SLI setup. It is a single 7950 GX2.
 
oh it just looked like you took out the fan on the bottom because of your wires. I meant that if you needed to get wires through the hole in front (the hole on top of the lower hdd cage) of the fan and wanted to keep the fan tere , there's wire space on the bottom sides of the fan mount. oh and I assumed it was an sli because I haven't seen many sli setup pictures and those two(one?) pci-e cards looked identical.


EDIT: also, thanks for the pics, I thought it was just me who couldn't keep the wires too organized inside this case.
 
That dont look too bad, i have seen worse....much worse. Its hard to keep cable organized besides the p180 dont have a window so who will ever see it :P, is that psu modular?

Oh, I see what you mean, I took the fan out for that reason yes, but mainly because it's now sitting in front of the HDD bay. I don't think all my cables would fit thru those holes anyway.

Yes, it's a single pci-e card. It basically is Nvidia's SLI in one card type of deal.

You're welcome for the pictures. I think those wires are as organized as they're ever going to be unless I get a different case and modular psu. P180's don't have a side window for a reason.

Yea. I ended up doing that because I had two extra wires that I didn't need: the PCI-E 12V-2 cable and a thread of like 4 more molex connectors and a floppy one. So the only wires I have going into the upper compartment of the case now are mobo, cpu, sata, and one pci-e. It looks much nicer now.
