P4 HT 3.0GHz cooling options..

I just bought a Pentium 4 HT/3.0E Prescott 3.0GHz (Socket 478) to replace the Celeron D 2.53GHz in my ubuntu machine, and I'm curious if the current cooling sytem (fan and sink) that came installed with my Celeron D will be sufficient for the new cpu?

The current sink and fan are stock, for reference.. aside from that, I have no idea what specs the the two of them hold.

The setup for the celrons and p4's are identical. If however you experience excessive heat on the cpu, you can always get some liquid nitrogen.

I put an Ice cube on my cpu, and it runs great, can get buggy sometimes, u'll have to replace the ice cube every 10 mins

I have a p4 3.6, and if you dropped an ice cube on it, it would explode to steam, and burn your face into an unrecognizeable mess, it gets so hot.

the p4's heat is legendary.

worst cpu ever made :(

Can't be the worst.. I figure the Celeron was one of the worst, but I could be wrong =)

Although, my Celeron D seems to run seemingly quicker than my AMD Athalon 64 3500+, but that could be XP (CeleronD) vs Vista (AMD).

Heh, mine with a lot of ariflow goes idle at 36C. The lowest tepm I've seen on it was 19C, but I had to literally open up the window in pure winter.
