my brother has a hp pavilion a522n can he overclock it with a oc tool cuz it doesn't have the bios option like mine
 
An OEM computer such as HP, Dell, Gateway, etc. can't be overclocked in the bios. You would have to use software to do it, but you wouldn't see much if any improvement. If he wants to overclock, he would have to build a custom computer with a non OEM motherboard.

If he has an nvidia board, he could use ntune, its so so software. I overclockd an emachine 170mhz (3000+) and it ran stable.
 
Yeah most OEM machines cant be overclocked,Ive heard you can get custom BIOS,s that allow you to overclock...but other than that like mentioned your just left with overclocking via software. :cool:
 
I had the same problem OCing, so I just used clockgen. (OCed from 3.0ghz to 3.96ghz @ 1.44 volts, stable).
