I have a P4LD Asus motherboard in My HP. I have recently installed a Celeron D processor, and now everytime I start it it says that it needs a microcode update to support the new processor stepping. HP has a bios update, but it says "Place destination disk into Drive A ... Press any key to continue". I don't have a functioning drive a. HP won't provide support since the Computer is out of warranty. Does anyone have a clue what to do about this??

I don't have any floppy drives that work. For the $22 that newegg wants, Ill just live with the the microcode message.

You could flash within windows if you can get the bare ROM or BIN file. See the sticky in this section :)

I've done it before, as long as you don't lose power everything should go smoothly. You will need to reboot after flashing in windows for it to take effect.
