hey!
i have a Medion Akoya P7300D, with 4gb RAM, quad core (2.4ghz) cpu and an Nvidia 9600GT, the pc was pretty good for £500 back in 2008 :)
however 4 days ago it broke.. the GPU seemed dead. took it to a repair store, who told me what i thought - a dead gpu!

the GPU was a 9600GT... i've just been informed they've fixed the PC, by replacing the 9600 with an ATI XFX hd5450... a clear downgrade from my previous, stock gpu...

I phoned to tell them not to install the card yet, and that i will find another, higher performace card similair to the 9600GT... however i have no experience with buying a new gpu, and i am not sure what features to look for (other than more dedicated memory = better)
I can't find anywhere to buy a geforce 9600GT online... and i dont know what power output, slot size etc my pc case has, as it is still at the repair shop! :(

i CAN tell you thet my PC is a Medion Akoya P7300D
it has a Q8200 2.4ghz quad core CPU
and 4GB RAM, OS is 64bit Vista.

my cards stats were Nvidia 9600GT, 512mb memory
that's all, please help!? What cards are compatible with my PC?

well it all depends on what you plan to spend and what you plan to do with this computer for what we will recomend. For everyday stuff the 5450 is more than powerful enough for hd videos and all. If you'd like to game then it goes to the price area, gaming cards range from about 70 bucks to multiple hundreds of dollars. and if you'd like anything new we need the psu info (brand and watts, also on the sticker it should have a chart and we'd like to know what's with the +12v section).

Due to the unknown PSU, that's why I suggest go for 5670...

well i looked it up and the 9600gt had a 4 and a 300w varient, and the 5670 is a 400w card, so i didn't really want to just post it (plus if you noticed i put from 70 to a couple hundred, in usd the 5670 starts at about 70 ;)). also if it is the 300w varient it would work fine with the 5450.
