Does anyone have any advice on installing the Packard Bell 1200? I'm using Windows XP on my laptop.
The installation disk will not run. When I attempt to run the disk, the error message says: "16 bit Windows Subsystem: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NET. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application."
The two options are 'close' and 'ignore', but the program won't do anything either way. I've tried using the Camera and Scanner Wizard but it won't detect the scanner. I tried to install this scanner a few weeks ago. I did not recieve the above message, the software did install but would not work and disappeared. I tried a 'fixwinxp' download but because of the above error message, the installation kept being aborted.
