hy guys! i want to get ridd of my page file(i have plenty of spare RAM). i modified the performance settings and set the page fine to NONE, but if i chech my space in the partition i see that 4 gigs ar stil missing( the pf was originaly 4gb). i noticed that there still is a c:\pagefile.sys and i cannot delete it from win. I am using a laptop... so no floppy to erase the file from dos. How can i get ridd of the pagefile for good?

Right click on my computer and go to properties, than advanced. Under "Performance" click settings. Then go under the advanced tab. On the bottom it says "Virtual Memory". Click change. Then choose your main partition from the table and select the bubble "No Paging File". Then hit set and close all windows. Restart your system. The paging file will now be gone.

That was the first thing i did:). But i doesent rely turn of the page file. As i said before even if i "select that bubble" when i check my hdd space. It is the same. If there is no more page file it shoud be larger bu 4gb( my pf size was 4gb). When i check my partiton ocupied/free space 4gigs are missind.(because pf is using them). if i enter a run command c:\pagefile.sys it tries to run the file. In conclusion even if i turned of thr PF, (by selecting the bubble). The PF still exists. So how do i REALY tur it of. Tried some stuff in the registry...no effect..

choose "no page file"
then click SET
reboot
then delete pagefile.sys

if you don't click set then it won't work
