i just installed my pentium d 915. i dont have ram or a video card yet. i tried turning it on and absolutely nothing happend. this is my first build and i wanna know what to do. also, the motherboard was open box.

nope i have everything except ram and a GPU

you cannot run it without ram.

The computer should come on without RAM...it just won't actually work. Typically you get beeps or something. If the fans aren't spinning or anything, you probably don't have the power switch connected correctly. Very common problem.

as in the little red voltage switch on the back of the power supply

no as in pressing F2 when you start up the pc and the screen appears.

It can be a different button than F2 though. Thats what mine is.

What country do you live in? The US and Japan uses 120v, Europe and China uses around 220v.

So don't touch it, it's defaulted at 120v (unless you bought it in Europe or something).

Anyways, are you sure every single wire is plugged in? Including the 24pin motherboard connector AND the 4pin 12v connector?

Did you remember to use standoffs behind the motherboard?

Is the switch on your powersupply on?

Did you wire the power switch/reset switch switch correctly?

yes........but the little red switch is at 115, not 120
