parallel and gameport

Parallel is used to be used for a printer before they migrated to USB and the gameport is good for gaming controllers and midi input devices.
 
The gaming port is also almost phased out. Everyone is going to USB or Firewire for their controllers, or just not using joysticks anymore. As for the parallel you could use it as a Winamp controller port (learning parallel assignments are easy and fun). I'll post the link to it when I get home.
