hey u all comp exprts

i want to merge a drive into another without reformating my hardisk

nd without re installing my os..
presently running win vista ultimate...


i have tried drive management tools of win vista

merge 2 physical drives? or 2 logical drives?

i use Acronis Partition Manager. i havent used it in a while though but im pretty sure you can merge 2 logical drives together...as for physical drives i dont think you can do that without reformating.
 
okay here is the deal
i have 3 partition c- is the default windows folder, will not format that..
now i will format d drive and e drive then merge them will it doo.???
 
you can use fdisk and remove E: (the logical drive). this will combine it with the extended D:drive. then format the extended drive D:drive combining the two. leaving the C:drive alone.
 
If you are talking about merging 2 partitions on the same physical drive you can use Partiton Magic which will save the contents of the second partition in a faolder on the merged partition, so you don't lose any data
