Partioning an existing HD. How?

I have a 1TB HD (C: Drive) that has XP Pro on it (+ all other stuff, 129GB of it), and I like to partition it in two (equal) drives. Do I have to re-install everything? Or is there a utility that can do it?
(I tried to use Achronis Disk Directory, but that did not work.)
And if I have to reinstall everything, does the XP disk have a way of partitioning the drive the way I want it at installation? I have never seen it when previously installing XP.
Any comments?

tremmor - Acronis True Image will not partition HDs. It is more of a backup tool.
Partition Magic will do so, but I get stuck at the point when you want to execute the changes. It says that there are 3 final actions to be performed to complete the partition, but I can not find how to execute them. It mentions that it requires the boot mode to execute the operations, but does not explain how to get into that mode.
Everything I do only results in the program cancelling the partition changes I wanted to make to the drive, and loops me right back where I started from. Very fustrating!
Anyone knows how what to do after all the info is entered and the changes are to be executed? How to get into the "Boot Mode"?
