Hi everyone, on my computer i have 2 partitions, They came like this with the computer ( C and D drive ), What i want to do is create another partition using space from the D drive, Its for one purpose and its to install a game on.

My question before i do this is, if i at some point was to put the 40Gig i have used for that new partition back to the D drive how will i do this and is it possible?

Will be very grateful for any replies.

First, what you have is 1 partition, which created the 2 separate "drives".

If you have a square room, and build a wall straight through the center, you now have 2 rooms, one wall (partition).

That out of the way, what you're doing is pointless.

There will be no performance advantage by installing the game on the same drive.

Believe the D partition is the recovery. So if that's the case, don't change it in anyway shape or form. Just install the game or whatever on C. No need to add or change another partition for a game.

You have that backwards there. Mikeohioukus most likely has one drive with two partitions.

Wildbill is right. This is most likely the recovery partition. Leave it be!

It is possible to shift partition sizes if that is what you are thinking. Though, from what it sounds like you wish to accomplish, you are better off getting a second hard drive to install the game on. This would be much simpler to set up and give you additional options in the future.
