Hi there,
I'm not sure if what I want to do actually falls under 'partitioning' a hard-drive, but maybe someone can help.
I have just bought a new desktop (OS Windows 7) and wonder if it possible to set up two user accounts on it that are entirely separate from one another, or if not, partition the hard drive so that I can dual-boot into two distinct hard drives. The reason being is that I want to be able to use iTunes on one account/partition, but I don't want it to be at all evident on, or have any influence over, the other one.
In terms of user accounts, if I set up two – FRED and JANE for example - and install iTunes on FRED's profile only, will it also appear on JANE's profile? If so, is there anyway round this? iTunes is such a parasitic programme, I don't want it to have access to my tens of gb worth of MP3s and start churning them into M4As, thus want it 'partitioned' under a different user (FRED) so that I can use that one alone for my iPhone, whilst keeping JANE for WMP, my MP3s, WMAs and non-apple MP3 player.
If I can’t achieve this through user accounts, can I do this by partitioning my hard drive into two and then setting up some kind of dual-boot process?
Many thanks in advance for any advice, I am perplexed by all of this!!
