Partitioning Software & Problems with Windows

I've recently tried installing a few different partitioning programs on XP, like Acronis Disk Director Suite, and Norton whatever it's called. When I run any of them, they don't detect any of my partitions, and usually there's some kind of read error... Anyways, I thought that maybe running dskchk on my C and D drives would help, but then when I schedule it to run on the next restart, it doesn't run when I restart my computer.
Any ideas of what the problem may be?

first of all , why do you use multiple partitioning software ?
Acronis and that norton thingy ain't that good, i use Partition magic.
ok about your partitions, read errors probably relate to a bad partition, checkdisk was my thought but you say it doesn't work, i suggest you format that partition in full

Crap... I really hope it doesn't come to that...

Well, I don't use multiple types of partitioning software, i was just trying to find ONE that could actually get to work so I could use it.

Haha, "Acronis and that norton thingy ain't that good, i use Partition magic."
Norton Partition Magic is one of the programs I'm talking about.

I got Acronis to work before on this computer, but I've done a fresh install since then. I'm thinking of just re-imaging my C drive later this week, but I wanted to check if anyone knew what the problem may be... The copy of XP I have is after doing a repair install by the way - i don't know if that would make any difference or not.

Another Problem: after I resume from hibernation, I can't connect to any wireless networks til I restart. I tried reinstalling the drivers, but it didn't help...

nope, not even that... which is really surprising... most applications won't even start up because they say they can't detect anything...

oh so it seems your hard drive is stuffing up. not just the programs.

im not too good with hardware. but if worse comes to worse reformat windows and then see how it goes. but wait for other suggestions first

well then you can repair but i highly doubt it will work, you can give it a try though.
Sometimes it's best to stick with one partitioning program, if that one fails its better to remove all preferences in relation with that program

Well, with all the trouble I've been having, I think I could use a fresh start... I'll just back everything up and reformat.
Thanks for the help.
