Hello, so after installing Vista today, my D: drive is not showing in explorer i tried to just manually type D: in adress bar, did not work. The weird thing is that if i fire up ubuntu 9.04 live disc, the partition works completly

added a picture so you know what i mean, i have all my exams paper on there, and i have a exam in 6 days, hope u guys can help :)!

Well the good news is that you can use the Ubuntu live cd to copy the files off the D drive onto a USB drive. If you log into the Ubuntu live cd as root you'll be able to copy the files to your Vista drive.

You may want to look at Control Panel - System Maintenance - Administrative tools - Computer Management to see if the drive shows up.

Other than helping you save the files with a Linux live cd, I should keep quiet and let someone better than me help you with Windows problems.
