I'm looking at getting parts for a desktop Pc that I am looking to put together. I don't know very much about the parts and a shop will be putting in together for me but they have given me little help on what parts to get for what I want to use the computer for.

I want to be using this computer for gaming (Battlefield 4 and games of similar specs) and it will also need to be able run Photoshop and other programs which I understand the cheaper Pentium processor wouldn't be suitable for.

I'm Working with a budget of around £650 (could be go a little higher if necessary) and hoping somebody would be able to give me some pointers in what to get, thanks.

Much easier to build the pc yourself? and much less costly. Gives you good knowledge and the shop will most likely put a warranty sticker on it preventing you from opening the case and upgrading parts in the future or it will become void.

For £650 you can build a machine but for a little more it will become a much more future proof machine. Do you have monitor, Operating system?

I agree with ninjas build above for gaming and photoshop you certainly need a i5 4690k, if you can fit it in go for a gtx 970 which is around £265. Will run perfectly battlefield 4 and similar games maxed ultra with 60fps.
