i dont know which parts i should get for my new computer but i dont want to spend a whole lot. so far i have decided on :
pent4 3E
seagate 160gb
corsair 512mb ddr400kit
mother board - ASUS P4P800SE ( unless theres a better option, price too)

i still need
cd and dvd burner
cooling
psu
are sound cards really necessary?
graphics
and any other things i haven't listed yet

your board that you have selected has onboard sound, in other words you dont need a sound card, for your cd an dvd burner prolly best to just go with an all in one drive for like 70 bucks or so on newegg.com, for the cooling slap in a couple of case fans or so, but def go with a retail cpu so you can have the heatsink and fan that comes with it, and for a power supply anything over 300 watts sould be more than enough for what you are doing....other than that i think you got it all, provided that you have a case
