Password protected

I have a new desktop with Windows 8. When I restart, after it wakes,etc. I find myself having to use a password to get back on the internet. I went to power options, changed the options where I don't need a password, but that didn't work. I'm the only user so I don't need this aggravation. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

try creating another profile with admin rights and without a password. reboot or logoff and log back in with the new profile. Yours may be corrupted. this should be done anyway. More than one emergency profile for something like this.

Where do I go for the new profile?

Do you have a screensaver activated at all? If so, check its settings to see if you need to enter password at that point.
