Is there a way to require a password to access a folder or drive in a home network? I can access my pc from the my laptop via \\192.xxx.xxx & can access shared folders. I'm running Windows XP Home and do have a password on my name. A few times I did get the login window with Username: & Password: but anything I entered allowed me to connect to the pc. But that usually doesn't happen, most of the time I can connect without even getting that prompt. I can't access any non-shared folders as expected. If I go the other way around, from my home pc to my laptop which is a company pc that requires a username and password to log on to the pc itself, I do get the Username: Password: prompt and it must be entered as required.
