a barebone notebook i was looking at says it's compatible with ATA-6 HDD's... the only 2.5 inch HDD i've found are either PATA or Serial ATA-150... which form is the correct one??? or is there and ATA-6 out there? let it be known, the only place i looked is newegg.com...

it's an ASUS Z62F intel dual core barebone... found at avadirect.com... the notebook hard drives i was looking at were on newegg.com...

The Z62F's are only PATA and not SATA, some early documents had it listed as SATA before, but changed due to lack of parts upon release. Here's the datasheet on it. www.laptopextreme.com/store/pub/z62fdatasheet.pdf.

Also to let you know, there is a Combo drive version and a DVD-RW version of this barebone available. So if you're going for a cheaper price, double check on the optical that it's coming with or lack of. :D
