Just reinstalled Windows, and drivers (W10 PRO x64)

Whenever I try to change the network location, the computer will lock up and eventually BSOD.

I have the following two logs:

Any help would be VERY appreciated :-(

I reinstalled my Wireless adapter drivers and Uninstalled soundblaster drivers, and used the metro settings to change network location. Stuff seems to be working for the moment. I cant get the error to trigger in any way. Lets hope it is just a glitch :3

After uninstalling the soundblaster driver, I ran CCleaner and it seems it has destroyed those dumps. However, the system is running fine now. If it does it again, as I will be keeping close watch, I will add them to a reply for this thread.

Thanks for the quick reply. I really appreciate it. It seems to me that it was either the network driver corrupt or soundblaster. I reinstalled the network driver and removed soundblaster.

Cheers though :) and thanks to the moderator for moving this. I should have made a separate thread rather than replying to the OPs sticky.

:)

Thats okay, I moved it.

Yes, ccleaner will delete all dump files unless you uncheck that box before running it. Would suggest doing that now and then run it so the option sticks and don't have to set it back up again.

Good idea :-)

Thank you

God damn Windows 10 borking up sound devices/drivers. Nothing out of the ordinary sadly. :/ My webcam still gives me problems.

My UAC keeps resetting itself after restarting in Windows 10.

But yea... Windows 10 is still in it's infancy. Driver issues are bound to happen.

Thank god. I was panicing that there was something seriously wrong with the system. It is not even a month old yet :3 I do reckon it was more likely than not to be the Wireless adapter as the issue only occurred when changing network location.

This was a fresh install too. I had just installed the drivers again ;)

Wow, people actually use that HomeGroup feature?
I do, because it is quick, all my household computers run Windows 10 Home, Pro or Edu, and it is just easier to manage. I still use the normal NetBIOS/WSD Networking Features too, but...bleh...permissions.

Stuff seems to be working perfectly fine now anyway. Lets hope it stays that way.

I just run a NAS instead. More expensive? Sure. But I don't know... I have a triple redundancy setup on that thing and the data stored on it is pretty safe.

I use to run a D-Link DNS-323 and found it just not quick enough for me anymore even with a custom firmware. So I moved to the Asustor. What a difference.

Is your raspberry setup quick?

It does the job quite happily. It is not up at the moment as I want to reinstall debian on it again over the summer and set a content filter up, but yeah. Running PostgreSQL, Samba and SSH it was running on 60MB of RAM, which was pretty awesome.

Sorry, CF went down for me a second ago... uhm... tbh not sure.

The HDD is a basic, crappy 250GB laptop HDD that was originally in a primative freeview topbox with recording facility before moving to an old laptop. It is powered only by the pi (have to alter some power settings otherwise it cant draw enough power, but the pi has a 2.4A PSU anyway, so...), and the connection is over WiFi to the other side of the house, which runs at 85mbps max (should be 300 but the printers cap the speed).

I never have issues though. It is fast enough to do what I want. I have a 2GB microsd card in an SD adapter in a SD to USB dongle in the back of my router too, that just hosts some installers for programs I regularly install, and some printer drivers; as my download speed is much slower, and I don't like waiting seven minutes for a 100mb executable to download.

Ah alright. I had issues with my previous d-link only giving me like 10-20mb/s read & write. My current Asustor does like... 100mb/s read & write. Plus, it does way more other stuff.
