Hello everyone,

I would like to ask for some advice regarding this weird problem. im using win764bit. first off, for some reason my computer did not start up properly and went directly to start up repair. i did follow some advice that found in the web to no avail so I ended up reformatting my c:, everything was good but for only 5 days it went to start up repair again. so i reformatted my PC again for the second time. then after 3 days it cant start again. this time i choose to left it alone of course with the start up repair on going. after a while i came back and i look at it and this time i was able to log-on. but no sound, i tried to check the device manager and it wont let me. it says "mmc.exe application error". and when i try the services.msc command it says "mmc.exe application error ... 0xc000007b error". the status now is the sound and cant check my devie manager. the speaker icon on the lower right corner is missing too. ive also tried to run>type "sound" >click the speaker icon and it says "enable windows audio serve" i click yes but nothing is happening. still no sound. tries system restore to no avail too. please any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Sounds like you may have an issue with the hard drive itself. What brand of drive do you have? You will need to use the drive manufacturers disk diagnostic program to check the drive for errors.

I agree with johnb35 that this sounds like your HDD is about to take a dirt nap. Bad sectors and whatnot.

If you are able to boot up into DOS you can run CHKDSK to test and fix your file system.

Code:
[B]cd \[/B] to root (if necessary) and then type [B]chkdsk[/B].

thanks for the comments guys. went ahead and buy a new one. but yeah, its going blue screen at start up, bad sectors when chkdsk, undetected (need to unplug and replug SATA), etc...
