PC Freezes When Playing Games

I bought a Visiontek 7970 GPU a 2 months ago and had zero problems until 3 weeks ago. All of a sudden when the computer went into sleep mode it wouldn come out of sleep mode, but the monitors wouldn't come back on (I have a logitech LCD keyboard and it becomes active when I hit a key so the PC is coming out of sleep mode?) I set my computer to never sleep and quick fixed that. A few days after that when playing 3D games (Guild Wars 2, Sleeping Dogs, etc...) I can go about 10-30 mins before the game freezes, then the screens will go black and the game will come back on, it will freeze 2-5 mins after that and nothing will let me return to the desktop and I have to restart my computer manually. I have contacted the manufacturer of my GPU for an RMA and have an RMA number now but I want to be entierly sure that the graphics card is the problem before I send it in because i need my computer for school (i have a laptop but it can be a real pain in the butt).

Can anyone give me some ideas on what I could try to do before I conclude that the problem is the GPU?
 
I think that I may have fixed it actually. I ran ccleaner for the first time since I reinstalled windows several months ago, and I played sleeping dogs for 30 minutes no problems, I'm going to test it out some more and I'll post here with what I find.
