Pc Guard microchip

I've heard of hardware like that in the past... It's not new. I don't remember exactly how it works, but I'm quite sure it's not nearly as good as they say...

If you want something that'll keep your machine safe. Get DeepFreeze. Now, you can't write anything to your machine untill you "thaw it" but of course, nothing bad will be saved to your machine.

DeepFreeze?....uhmmmmm

Thanks for your prompt reply.
But I tried DeepFreeze before. Its good up to certain extent.
In its web page they state some limitations when it comes to incompatibilities with some popular formats like Adobe Photoshop, and some others.
And due to its "software" nature, there is always a possibility of been cracked by a hacker.
Pc Guard been a Hardware installed in your pc, is somehow much more difficult to crack because it will have to be "removed" phisically from your computer.
I would like to give it a try.
If you know of any other helpfull info on the subject, I will appreciated.

Thanks again.

I'm sure that hardware could be hacked as well... I don't know how secure it is, but anything is hackable. As for compatability, I don't know what you mean. I used DeepFreeze on my video computer and the only problem I ever had(which might of not been from deepfreeze) was I couldn't set my clock in windows... I'd get an admin error.

DeepFreeze link

Well, the limitations I know of are:
It disables F8 and F5 (can't go on Safe mode)
Works with certain printer controls and drivers
Doesn't block or control Microsoft Office applications.....among others.

Here is a link to DeepFreeze web page where they state their known limitations

Click on Content Library (in the main menu on the top)
Then scroll all the way down, you'll find WIN Select Functions and limitations

I own a copy of DeepFreeze. I might be a bit old, but I don't see how it's changed THAT much. Well, maybe there are some new limitations or something, but it worked great for me and my video machine. I never had a single problem. I beleive I used Photoshop 7, at the time, and Premiere 6.5. I also just stuck with IE 5.0 because I ran 2000 on that machine and didn't have to worry about spyware ;)
