Hi ,

This one goes particularly for my friend.

We have bought a new machine for Him from Lamington Road,Mumbai.
The config is as below:
C2D-Intel,
Asus P5B-MB,
512 DDR2 RAM,
120GB Samsung HDD.SATA

The problem that we are facing here is whenever we are playing some games like GTA or FEAR or some other the computer will hang and than we cant do any thing (like ctrl+alt+del).
The only option we have is to reset the comp.
I m really afraid as too manny reset may spoil the HDD life or make OS corrupt.

Also after every reset the windows does not check for scan disk at all.

To my surprise all the GAMES rather the same games are working really smooth without any such problem on my machine which is as
P4,915GAV Intel MB,80-SATA'

Note:the OS on both machine is same.We have tried formatting HDD but does not work. The GTA and other still have some problem of getting HANG .

Tried switching the RAM from one slot to other .but dint help.

The machine performs well while playing DVD or MUSIC or other app.
Only GAMES we have this problem

Pls guide us
Both of us are looking for a graphic card also .
pls sugest a graphic card with PCIXpRESS 16x
Budget as 4~5K .

Also i forgot to post
i cant acess the regedit.on typing it the machine just restarts without giving any option.Just says that the admin might have disabled the feature or some.

THNKZ,
CHIRAG

Only 512mb of memory on a system used for gaming? A good machine running XP will see at least 1gb with 2gb seeing an overall performance boost and smoother operating system. The video on the prebuilt system there may be onboard unless you know a separate card was included. Onboard video seriously lacks on performance for a number of reasons. That and the lack of enough memory for the newer games out will be ruled the cause there for games locking up.

The administrator's permissions were disabled by the manufacturer for any prebuilt under the warrenty they provide. This is why you only see system recovery disks rather then any full install disks provided. Without being able to create a new value in the system registry through the regedit tool you won't be able to create a new adminstrator account. Providing a link for the make and model there will help with a look at the specifications on advising any hardwares.

Thanks for the post bro..

Dint have any warranty on the PC at whole as the PC was assembled by US (me and my frnd)

It only covers the vendor warranty...like the board and the CPU..

So its not the admin issue for sure..

and the Machine still crash as have tried with 1Gig of memory.

PS>not receivd the link

whats the video card. are you trying to play on high? 512 ram isnt enough, even if you tried it with 1gb. you need at LEAST 1gb to play those games ok

On a new build here 2gb of performance memory will be going in to replace the current build with 2gb of value ram plus a DX10 card and dual core cpu. This will dual boot Vista along with XP which wants even more memory for the new version there. Besides the lack of memory for the more recent games video and sound drivers often have to be updated or you have to go back to an older set when problems come up in gaming. I can second lovely?'s quesion on the video card being used?
