pc keeps jumping offline since cpu install

since i installed my fx60, several times a day, i lose internet. i have cable internet which is supposed to be on all the time.

when i lose my connection, i go to my network properties, and it say i'm still connected. so i disable the connection, then re-enable it, and i'm back online. any ideas what it could be?
 
one other thing to note: i was using a router/firewall with my old setup, but since upgrading, i haven't hooked it back up. it never lost connection with the router. weird.

help! it's getting annoying. i had to reset once already tonight since 8:30.
 
turn of your computer/s unplug your modem ,phone,ethernet and then cable. Then u unplug your router including all your ethernet cables, after a 1 min or so put in your cable then ethernet,phone, and then your power. Wait for your modem to reboot this will be like 30 secs u will see all ur lights light up then 1 or 2 will be blinking ,then plug your router bac in wait 10 secs .then plug in the ethernet cables beginning with your modem first hopes this will help
 
i did get the upgrade, and also the dual core optimizer. same results. thanks for the ideas. anyone else have any suggestions?
 
i was just reading another thread, and it reminded me of something i forgot i did right before i changed cpu's. it was recommended to me that i flash my bios to be sure the mobo would support the dual core. the box said it did, but i falshed it anyway to the most recent version. now i keep getting booted. i don't suppose there's a way to go back, huh? what can i do?
