Could an incorrect install cause this?

Do you get any sort of BIOS display on screen or any indication HD access? If you are not seeing anything upon turning on the computer (no video display, no HD access) it is possible that either the RAM or CPU is not seated properly. Or, it could be that whatever RAM or CPU you have installed is not compatible with your motherboard.
Is this a new build? Make/model? Parts?
The build is fine but the motherboard took a poop so it was RMAed. He's reinstalling everything now.
