PC or Mac?

Im off to college next year and need a laptop that will hopefully last my time there. My current plan is to study finance, mostly investments. I have always been a PC user and have hated Macs, but just recently I have discovered that they are not as bad as I had always thought. And now, with the Intel chips in them, they have become an option in my decision. I do enjoy my music but don't play around with video at all. Basically my question is should I bother looking at the new Macs or just stick with the PC? Thanks.

just stick the the PC. dont get into the mac otherwhys you will have to go with a bunch of proprietary stuff and that gets to be a hassle

Macs will be more stable than PC's. If you don't want your computer to crash while you're writing a paper, just to be safe, I'd go with Mac. It doesn't sound like you'll be doing anything that really requires Mac or Windows...and to be on the safe side, Mac has MUCH less bugs and viruses than Windows, and crashes a LOT less. Also, if you get a computer good enough, you might be able to try dual-booting Mac OS X and Windows XP. That requires some knowledge on matters I'm not allowed to discuss here, though ;).

or if you dont want to be threatened by viruses.

the general feel in here is directed towards pc because of bias. personally i think that a mac could work in your favour especially the ibooks. they are solid and you can get a range of different screens. my friend has the 12" book and he loves it, takes it to school and it is nice and small. i would not write off a mac

I am a total PC fanboy, but when it comes to a college computer. Definitly go with mac, they are more stable. In college your not gonna have the time or patience to be fixing ur virus infected PC. I would go with Mac for sure.

mac ive always wanted one the only reason i havnt got one yet is because i like building pcs and gaming but saying that i may get a mini mac treat yourself get a mac

get a pc, more than likely the majority of ppl at college will also have PC's, so if you have a question it will be easier for you to find help. Also you will be able to trade software with your classmates. I am not saying that macs are better or PCs are better, it just the fact that there are a boatload more PCs than macs. College is a one time thing, you are there to do college stuff, after you get your degree , then get a Mac and see which you like better.

:D Are you suggesting dual-booting is against the law? :D
