PC Power Output Problems

Salutations! I've a PC that I built myself a year or two ago, and an interesting new problem. It still works perfectly otherwise, but sometimes sends no output to any external devices (monitor, usb, etc.) upon startup. This means I have to restart it several times until it eventually begins sending power to these devices, at which point there is no problem until I have to start it up again. Now, I'd like to not have to restart it 10 times every time I want to use it, any ideas what could be going wrong?

Also, do not suggest that I just leave it in sleep mode when not in use - the problem still seems to occur when waking it up. I've Googled this plenty of times, but no one seems to have the exact same problem.

Which i5? Do you know what BIOS version you are using currently?

Since this is just starting you may be seeing a component failure. You might be able to test the onboard video and see if you can reproduce the same behavior without the 7970.

Haswell i5-4670K. I do not, is there an easy way to find out, or do I need to boot to BIOS real quick?

To go into more detail: This problem is not just starting. The computer is more like 4 years old, this has been happening for about 2 of those. I just let my sister use it for the last couple years.

Sounds sort of like a grounding out issue. When you built it, did you use the standoffs between motherboard and case? You might want to tear it all apart and rebuild it making sure its done right.

Also, might want to think about trying a different power supply or making sure the 24 pin main connector is securely attached to motherboard.
