PC pricing

X1950 is like $100 these days. And for the price, might as well get the 8800GS...

P4 brings it down greatly. Slow, overrated, and old technology.

I know it'll be tough to sell a P4, now especially... with even basic PC's coming with C2D.

But this PC definitely isn't slow. Especially if you're into gaming. I've ran Prey, FEAR, Bioshock... all with high settings, @ 1280x1024. Side by side... it looks slightly better than an Xbox 360, and I maintain a smooth frame rate.

Maybe the processor is outdated... but... depending on what you plan to do with it... you may never notice.

Maybe I'll just keep it.

I've put up for sale signs around work, and I put "or best offer" on craigslist... if I can't get at least $500... i'll just keep it. I'm selling it, because I bought a new computer though the employee purchase program. I'm not in serious need of the money or anything... I just don't need TWO pc's.

If i end up keeping it... I'll probably run Linux on it... or maybe turn it into a MAME cabinet.

Exactly. I recently worked on a Celeron D 420. On normal tasks, I sware that it's faster than a E2140. Either it's just a coincidence, or Vista really is a memory hog :P
