PC Problem - XP Wont Boot

After installing a PCI Firewire controller card, I have found that Windows XP will not boot.

I get the motherboard logo, and then the screen goes blank. The XP splash screen is not shown.

Any ideas what may be causing this, as I need the PC up and running again ASAP, ie a couple of days after Christmas.

Thanks in Advance
Adam

Yeah, Ive removed the card, and there is still a problem.
Would it be a good idea to reset the CMOS/BIOS by removing the battery and reinstalling it? Would this mess up any passwords for XP etc?

BTW I am using an Asus P5V-VM DH Motherboard

Thanks
Adam

Remove The Cmos Batt for around 10 minutes (overkill i know, just to be sure) and replace it back in, repost if no gud. No, Removing the CMOS battery will NOT screw up your windows passwords. (what are they by the way) haha just kiddin, Merry Christmas

No, no luck with removing the cmos battery. Im beginning to wonder if it is the hard drive. I will try booting a different hard drive on the PC, and post the results again.

I will also run 'PC Check' on the pc.
