okay first off: this is my very first post here, and i didnt see any section covering errors or problems, if i have overlooked it please redirect me to the proper place.
secondly: i am not completely computer illiterate, but im not a genius either.
so i may not know some of the vocab >.<

lastly: the problem is this; after awhile, i cant put an exact gauge as it just happens randomly sometimes multiple times in one night, or once in week, but i am beginning to get a black screen. what does this mean and how can i fix it? thanks in advance!
 
You might have your screensaver set to kick in too soon. Check your screensaver settings.
If that doesn't work, post your results.
 
the screensaver is not the issue, that was the first thing i checked.
hmmm..okay lets try this;it happens more often when i am running any 3d application or game, or multiple windows/tabs at once, along with other applications such as itunes. i also know from this forum that the VIA/SG3 UniChrome Pro IGP video cards are not entirely reliable for 3d graphics as far as i gather, could this be the issue, or part of it?
 
Does the whole computer freeze up. Or can you still tell its running and the monitor just blacks out into standby?
 
okay from what i've been able to gather from here, google, friends, tech support, and other forums as well i have concluded that it is indeed my lame video card soo i have decided to do this:
im going to junk this thing and build a brand new computer ^_^

If you can try the monitor on another computer. I,ve come across a few monitors in my old life that would just kick out and lose connection. Or try another monitor on your computer to see if it does the same thing.
