I am completely reformatting my old dell.. (rhett) so that i can sell it to a friend, but i want to load some pretty good programs on it other than just windows basics... what other programs are good for a say... 25 year old guy? i dont have any idea anymore, because i switched to mac and havent dealt with pc's in a while.... any ideas?

There is an endless market of 32bit softwares for Windows. With the OS on and complete with the installation disk/software disks for anything else you would have to know what type and which programs are preferred by the intended buyer. Generally the primary user/owner decides whet other softwares are desired and acceptable. You should ask your friend what would be the programs he/she would be interested in. Games, utilities, word processing, video tools, multimedia, etc.

For music i recomment ITunes .. You cant go wrong with them. You dont actually need to buy there media just use there media program :D

Half the sites online will ask if you want ITunes installed on the spot if you don't already have it in use. The important thing there with the sale of the system is inquire as to the programs you install and provided the disks for as well as the ones that will be put to use. SuperDVD Player is a freeware that can go on easily as well as removed fast if not wanted since WMP often seems to miss a codec or two.

First inquirying before installing other then Windows would be the better move as well as a time saver to install unwanted and forgetting to install wanted programs. Just make sure to install all over the latest and necessary drivers for video, sound, and of course Dell's drivers for the board.
