hello all i have a computer which got fried by incorrect memory being inserted so i wopuld like to know if the intel lga 775 pentium 4 ht will be any good to put into a new build which i am going to do in the same case or if i would be better to get one of them motherboard and cpu bundles maybe with a core 2 duo or something like that.By the way this is important because i do not want to have to buy a cpu separately if mine is broken
 
What motherboard do you have? Did you damage all the memory slots or just 1? Were you putting ddr3 memory in ddr2 slots? Or ddr2 memory in ddr1 slots?

i have a hp pavilion astrope A it was ddr2 and i dont think i damaged any slots.I think it just shorted some out because it had the wrong amount of pins.(maybe the computer shop sold me ddr3 or ddr1 instead)
 
Can you list the specific model of HP you have? Not getting any hits from astrope A. I'm hoping to get a good look at the motherboard. You may have to go back to HP or get a new case and a motherboard.
