My desktop suddenly is not going to sleep. Normally, it sleeps fine with the light blinking but now when I press sleep, it just goes out (no blinking light) and when I press back the power button, windows basically starts back over with an error. I don't remember the error now. It started this last week upon putting on FSX and my joystick. I do the Powercfg /requests command and it said there is no problem and nothing is blocking the PC from sleep. What could be wrong and should I try refreshing windows 8?

Check that when you press the power button it is set to go to sleep. It sounds like it's either hibernating or shutting down when you press the button.
