Hi whenever I go on my wife's PC sometimes it boots fine and then it don't.
Just lately however it starts to and then it just freezes with the busy/hard drive led(Yellow light)just stays on.

When it had started to boot up before it was going to show the windows logo I had noticed a couple of words that distinctively come out it was 'unknown flash type'...

But then like I said sometimes it booted fine and sometimes it didn't.
Please help:confused:

thank you:)

PS Can someone out there please help me fix this thing as the wife is giving me hell atm:(

Is there anything I can try before I have to say get rid of the mobo?
And if I do would there be certain things I can save on it i.e ram, hard drive cd/dvd,processor etc

thanks

Well the thing is if mobo dies, all on it dies too. I wouldn't be so sure though, the thing is we aren't sure if your mobo is really dying. Although all points to this fact.
You can still give it to experts on a check up. If it's mobo dying, you will not be able to save anything, it's the best to by a new computer case...

Yeah but when you say everything dies on mobo is it just things like ram processer etc?
but things like hard drive cd/dvd player, wireless router card will be ok?

Yes. Hard drive won't die ( but if it dies it brings on mobo, tricky ) But wireless card may die depending where is it placed. Network and audio card, with video card will die...

When the error comes up on boot press the "pause" key, write it down and post it here. Could be bad flashchip on mobo or could be the hdd interface going...

Whats the specs of the PC and how old is it?

More info the better.
