pc to tv issues

hi all. could you please help, have a acer 5920g windows vista laptop and i can't seem to get fixed up to my tv. think i need drivers or something. Can get picture up but no sound. When i go to sync there is nothing there to sink it to. Have just downloaded stuff from the internet and i cannot watch it on the tele. I do have a HDMI cable fitted at tele and pc. what can i do
 
On my Computer the HDMI sound has to be set to default in the Sound Control Panel, otherwise Sound is transmitted thru the regular sound card.

If your Computer won't transmit sound thru the HDMI output, then hook up some regular RCA cables from the Laptops Sound out jack. or Headphone jack to the TVs Sound in jacks.
