Hi,

Whenever I turn on my computer every morning, there is a high pitch noise inside my PC. After 3 to 4 minutes, the noise is stopped, the computer is normal operation.
When the noise is on, I opened it and paused the fan on Video Card, the noise is stopped. I cleaned it very good, but the noise is still there when turn it on in the morning.

My question is if I want to replace the video card, what type of card I can have, 1gb or 2gb?

My OS is Window XP Professional, pack 3, Ram 3Mgb, Dual core.

Please help

Thanks

Ken

what type of gpu do you have?
for advance gpu's these days most require an external power source and not just the power the comes from the pci slot.
If it defiantly is the fans and your gpu requires an external source from your psu make sure it is plugged in.
A card that requires more power then what is generated from the pc, and it dosnt get it tens to go crazy, the fan runs to fast ect...
if all that is correct and accounted for, (your gpu is getting an external power supply)
and it just keeps making that noise it may just be the fan on the gpu slowly dying.

My Adapter type: GetForce 8400GS
Adapter RAM : 1.00GB

If my monitor is 19 in, and the resolution is 1280 x 960, do I need to buy 2GB video card rather than 1Gb?

That shouldnt make any difference 1gb gpu will work fine..i think its just the fan of ur current gou.
Can you list complete systen specs?

I know it is problem on the fan.
Replace 2gb card is much better performance than 1gb and loading the picture is much faster, is that correct?

Not really true unless you play games at very high resolutions. For your res, even a 256MB or 512MB card would be enough. So you don't need a 2GB card.
