pc133 not responding?????

I ordered pc133 512mb and put it in the computer properly, but the computer won't boot. When i take it out and put in the original 64mb stick it works fine. Really need advice? Could the motherboard not support 512 or is it bad ram?

Spec:

Motherboard: Intel something?
Cpu: P3 868mhz
HDD: generic 20 gb
it has cd and floppy

Anybody?

Does the motherboard support that much RAM? My old P3 board only supported 384MBs or something around there.

you may be right but i have 512 in another p3 but may be different boards. Its hard to diagnos this becuase of no name generic parts. Anything else?

yeah, i'd check the intel website to see if that mb supports those memory sticks. since you have a stick of 64mb in it already... my guess is no it doesn't. i've rarely seen mb's that use sticks of 64mb support higher than 384mb of RAM total. i've never heard of a system that supports both 64mb and 512mb sticks of RAM... let alone seen that.
