PC3200 Memory Problems

I have recently upgraded the RAM in my PC. I purchased two 512mb PC3200 DDR ram (exactly the same as was previously installed) so I have a total of 4 sticks = 2048mb ram installed. When I have looked at the BIOS it states that I have PC2700 ram, I have tried both sets of ram once at a time and they both state that they are PC3200 sticks, its only when all of the sticks are present that it says PC2700. I have noticed no great change in the machine; its more or less the same as before when I had 1GB. I know if you have two different speeds of ram it will always run at the speed of the lowest ram, but this is not the case here. Is anyone able to help?

Update your BIOS, but first check if there are any settings for the memory. If that doesn’t work you should go ahead and return the memory (since they maybe faulty).

Run CPU-Z and tell me what clock frequenty the RAM is running at.

on startup, my pc says i have ddr333 installed. but its running at 450MHz. ( but thats because i OC'd the fsb ) so, did you oc your pc?
