You want a good freeware that will not only accurately show what memory is actually installed but provides a good breakdown on everything? The SIW tool seen at http://www.gtopala.com/ is a stand alone type utlity that can be run on the drive or from removable media even a usb flash drive.

The Crucial scan there is for Crucial brand memory only? apparently. This is why you are seeing a strange result from the lack of that to properly detect the Corsair brand memory you are running. Software design there.

See if it shows up as PC6400 during POST. If so, the crucial scanner is displaying wrong information.

Otherwise, get PC Wizard, CPU-Z, or the above tool.

The post tests will show total read and speed but not model or type there as long as you have the board or system brand logo disabled. Small programs like the ones mentioned here are independent of brand.
