I have a m848a PcChips Mobo. I'm trying to update the bios, however it seems as if it can only be done in DOS via floppy? I don't have a floppy drive. Is there any way to do it in windows?

Try and take the Files off the floopy with another computer and add it to a BOOTABLE CD and burn it . If you are doing it in dos make sure you add Boot from cd rom in bios.

Ok, that worked, however the BIOS was the same version as the one it came with. This mobo seems terrible and lacks support (newest Bios I can find is 2 years old). When I turn on the PC, it only shows 256mb RAM at the bios screen and occasionally the 256mb Graphic win size disappears and sets itself to 128 and I have to clear the CMOs to get 256 to come back as an option.

1. Have you changed your mobo battery? CMOS settings changing by themselves usually mean the battery's starting to die.
2. Newest BIOS is 2 years old? Count your lucky stars you don't own an eMachines. Mine's four years old and counting, and no updates are available at all. That means my IDE controller's stuck at ATA-66!
