PCI card sucking power out?

I got a pretty cheap video card last month, its a PCI Nvidia Geforce4 MX4000, 64mb... anyway, since then I've had some troubles with random restarts, and I suspect it may be the power supply weakening (computer is almost 3 years old). Ok, so I want to get a firewire card now. Is it possible that putting in two cards in like that will "suck the power" out of the supply and cause the computer to malfunction even more? The video card doesn't have any sort of power plugin, just insert and install. Thanks

check the specs of your psu, see how many amps it has and how many watts it outputs, especially on the 12V+ rail. Also, if you just put a firewire card in it won't do much, but if you start attaching external harddrives, DV cams or w/e to it then it starts to draw power.

Was this card used? If it was new i suggest returned it for a new one, this is most likly not a power issume, but much more likly to be bad ram in your video card.
