I was wondering if there are any real world advantages from choosing PCI-2.0 Motherboards over PCI-e 1.0 motherboards.
My latest PC will have a Geforce 8800GTS that is PCi-E 2.0. I know that it is backwards compatible with the 1.0 slot that most mobo's have, but will it be bottlenecked or considerably slower if I put it in a normal PCI-e 1.0 slot? Or will it be much better to spend the extra $ on a 2.0 motherboard?
