PCI-E X16 Slot Questions about 2.0??

I have a PCI-Express x16 Slot on my motherboard, but it seems that many video cards out right now are PCI 2.0.

Is it possible to put a 2.0 card on my x16 motherboard?

If it is possible, is it better to just get a x16 video card?

because i beliece if it was compatible i would recieve no benefit from the 2.0 part.

Any info on this would be appreciated, Thanks!

PCI-E is backwards compatible so yes it would work. If I was in your position, I would buy a PCI-E 2.0 mobo, which might mean a new processor and PSU and RAM. Depends on what you are looking to spend.
