pci-e2.0

I have a regular pci-e slot. will a pci-e 2.0 card be able to fit in it?

Use the search function or just browse the video card section. There's already tons of threads on this.

I looked in the cideo card section, nothing.

i'll just answer the question pci e 2.0 doubles the bandwidth from pci e 1.0 allowing more info to flow through increasing performance, and yeah you can use a pci e 2.0 card in a pci 1.0 slot. you will notice a performance increade though if you put the 2.0 card in a motherboard with a pci e 2.0 slot

For the most part, you won't notice any difference in performance with current video cards. Maybe 1-2fps tops, if even that. Reason being, current video cards (except for MAYBE 1-2 of the highest-end ones) don't even require all of the available bandwidth a regular PCI E slot offers, let alone needing any of the extra that a PCI E 2.0 slot would offer.

Yeah, it's sorta like having a 32x lane bus (though I believe it's still physically a 16x lane bus)

Only if the card is using more bandwidth than a 1.0 slot can deliver. Case in point all current 2.0 cards see no performance increase in their native (2.0) slots.
