Hello, I've got here a pci undo card (recovery/reborn card). I installed this hardware and its driver...rebooted...then suddenly windows can't load coz a file is missing...hal.dll.
I've got win xp which was running well the last time but everytime I install this card the same thing happens. help please. thanks

my quetion is the same as the previous 2 wtf is a pci redo undo card? and why would you buy a card for restore capabailties when you can simply install so many good programs sounds like a waste of money to me somone suckered you and i imagine if you take the card out it will boot right up!

A "recovery card" is used to protect HDD from alteration of files or the system, viruses, etc. once I reboot, the card restores the hd from its original state...fresh. recovering damaged modified or erased files(accdg. to the manual)
In my case, it went the other way. It wont boot coz a "hal.dll" is missing. I uninstalled the card, removed it from the slot and the voila...Hal.dll is gone.
I then have to install the OS again to keep it up and running.
any idea?
why is hal.dll missing? hardware abstraction layer?
