PCI Upgrade

Please excuse if this has been asked many times before, but I hate those searches that never quite answer my questions....

I have a computer that I like, it seems to run pretty well with consistency. However this computer only has PCI slots. Don't think I can invest in going AGP right now. Which leads me to the question...

What PCI video card would you suggest running, without basically replacing my computer and going AGP? (That is amazing that a video card can screw you so badly!!)

Seems as if PCI is hanging on for dear life.

Thanks.

Running the occasional video game perhaps (haven't been into the gaming since the Voodoo stuff in the late 90's, and that was the last time I purchased a brand new game, without doing upgrades), a lot of internet and e-mail, maybe the occasional Adobe graphics design. The latter two are fine with the computer I have now, but games.... forget about it.

1 word - Presario - college graduation gift 1 year ago - budget

Presario S4000NX
Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz
376 MB DDR
Western Dig. Cavier 30 GB 7200
Seagate Barracuda 40 GB 5400
PCI video card: Oxygen VX1-1600SW 32MB (overriding the on-board)
NO AGP slots

Not sure what the FSB is - or even WHAT that is... :-|

I'm trying to work with what i've got you know... i'd love to go full on peripherals, hand-built by me.... $$!

I hate this computer. Never the less I was curious how expensive it would be to upgrade the video card, maybe push this machine to it's limits for a while until I can replace it with a monster machine.
